the safety pin is something he's familiar with since he'd gifted similar to castorice and sunday, but it's the note that has him curling up on his couch, holding the paper to his chest and biting his lip.
there's no one around to see it, so he can let himself feel the stab. he doesn't know how much of them know about their futures, has no plan to give it away if stelle hasn't told them yet. so he'll just keep this close to his heart.
and he'll try and keep that as a promise--to try to be safe. to not search for death, to try and avoid it. it won't be instant, but he's heard it enough times now that he knows there are things worth living for--people worth living for.
